About The Town of Greenfield Historical Society

Picture
The Society is a private organization receiving its funds from member's dues, contributions and its members participating in moneymaking activities.  It has been in existence since 1983 when a group of citizens organized for the purpose or researching, preserving and promoting local history.

The Society meets once a month between September and May; most of the meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month.  During warmer weather we meet at the IOOF Hall in Middle Grove, a building owned by the Society.  During the winter, we meet at the Town Community Center (across from the Greenfield Center Post Office).  Refreshments and a program follow business meetings, guests are always welcome.

The Society publishes a monthly newsletter (Sept- May) which is mailed to members.  The newsletter contains many local history stories written by our members.  Many of our members live outside the area, some in distant states, but all have an interest and ties to the Town of Greenfield.  If you would like to receive a free copy of one of our newsletters, please sign our guestbook or contact us directly.
